Brief description of work carried out –
A large country house set amidst the unspoilt Essex countryside, it has been extended over the years to include an orangery and additional living space. In 1994 George Cook and Sons were winners of the Plaisterers Trophy for the decorative fibrous plasterwork on the project, deemed to be the best example its craft in the U.K. for the previous year. Of particular note was the latticed cornice in the dining room and the attention to detail given to the fibrous plaster mouldings throughout the building. Cooks have also been responsible for the external rendering and in situ run external cornice to the house, together with reconstituted Bathstone architrave mouldings, columns and balustrading. The gardens have been landscaped and a new bridge and garden walls have been rendered and capped to match the main house.
